Our mission is to provide a positive, loving environment in which a child can learn about faith, find friends, and have fun. To introduce the children to the Bible, our Episcopal faith and create a greater bond with the church and the parish community.

Welcome to Sunday School at St. James!

Our Sunday School explores Biblical narratives and the Episcopalian liturgy in a way that captures a child's God-given imagination.

Sunday School is offered from September to June during the 10:15 service, with the exception of Second Sundays on which Family Eucharist will be celebrated.

Curriculum

We use a variety of curricula including Godly Play and thematic VBS-style teaching. Throughout our Sunday School we focus on learning together, building community, and helping form a child's faith journey.

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.' And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
