
Peggy Kauffman is an internationally known artist who is driven by her passion for all animals, but especially horses and dogs. Her extensive experience caring for and competing on horses has helped her develop a deep understanding of conformation and its effect on movement. Specializing in portraiture, she has an intuitive sense of her subjects' individual spirit, which is a hallmark of her work.
Peggy was an art major at Bennett College in Millbrook, New York and attended the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. She teaches sculpture and anatomy workshops at her home in Millerton, New York.
Peggy's many awards include this selection from The American Academy of Equine Art: 1995 Best Non-Sporting Prize; 1994 Award of Distinction, Kentucky Derby Museum; 1990 First Place Sculpture. Her work has been featured in the following magazines: Country and Abroad, Equine Images and Spur.
