Lisa Mitchell

Lisa Mitchell received her formal art education at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, concentrating in Illustration and Graphic Design. After graduating she was employed creating storyboards and illustrations for advertising firms throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. She has also painted portraits for about 20 years, focusing primarily on children. Lisa's most recent work revolves around landscapes and still lifes.

Lisa is a past President (2005 -2007) of the Maryland Pastel Society, a Signature Member and currently serves on the board. She is also a Signature member of the Maryland Portrait Painters Society. Her other memberships include the Portrait Society of America and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painter's Association. She has chaired several national juried competitions and organized local group shows for other artists.

Lisa Mitchell is an award-winning artist, receiving Best in Show, 1st and 2nd place awards in several national exhibitions. She has been juried into numerous plein air competitions including Easton Plein Air, Paint Annapolis, Mountain Plein Air, Havre de Grace Plein Air and the Gunpowder Falls Plein Air Competitions.

Lisa believes you can never stop working at becoming a better painter and so she continues her art education by attending international conferences as well as national workshops.
