Eva Keller Carson focuses on the sharp contrasts of light and shadow and abstract shapes and patterns created by nature. Whether working "en plein air" or on larger studio work, Eva strives to capture and emphasize the patterns she is drawn to in the landscape. Her works often have unusual vantage points giving the work an abstract feel.
Eva graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA then studied independently with various artists through numerous workshops and classes in Maryland, Virginia and Germany. Professional affiliations include: member of the Maryland Federation of Art since 1995, director on the Board of MFA 1997- 2003, and President of MFA 2001-2003. Eva is a member of the Pastel Society of America and the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association.
Eva has won awards in numerous Juried Exhibitions at the MFA Galleries and at plein air events and competitions, most recently winning the Artists' Choice Award at Paint Snow Hill. Eva's mixed media work appeared in the February 2002 issue of "American Artist" magazine article entitled, "When One Media is Not Enough". Her large-scale murals are in many private homes. But her largest mural commission was a project of over fifty murals for the Baltimore Harbour School. Eva works and teaches drawing and painting classes in her studio at Clipper Mill, in Baltimore City. Her work appears in several galleries along the East Coast but is represented in North Baltimore County by Saint James' gallery, "The Art of Good Works".
