The oblations are the bread and the wine. Prior to the service the altar guild places the cruet of wine and the bread on a cloth on the table in the narthex. During the peace please go to the back of the church to the narthex to get the bread and wine to be ready to bring them to the altar at the beginning of The Holy Communion. The celebrant will announce the offering and an acolyte will stand at the front of the altar ready to receive the bread and the wine. Process up the aisle, hand the bread and the wine to the acolyte, then bow and return to your pew.
