Although we don’t know much about Philip, we do know that he figures prominently in several important incidents in Jesus’ ministry including the feeding of the multitude with loaves and fishes. It was Philip who said to Jesus: "Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little." (John 6:7)
Symbol: The Cross represents his martyrdom. Sometimes there are two loaves of bread under the arms of the cross remembering Philip’s response to Jesus at the feeding of the multitude.
