Serving at the Altar

An acolyte is "one who serves at the altar", and it is through this service we learn how to address God in all aspects of our lives. As we carry the cross and torches and assist in the tasks of the communion service, we discover how to carry God's love into the world and how to love and serve each other.

By participating in this way we are an important part of the drama that is the liturgy. As servers, we sit behind the altar rail and enjoy the service up close and personal from a unique vantage point. Our acolytes are men and women, boys and girls of all ages. We are always looking for cheerful people to join us!
